The Denfair exhibition held in Melbourne in June 2016 provided some great insights for future trends.  In a nutshell:

The trends which are set to continue:

  • the Scandi look
  • linen
  • marble

Emerging trends:

  • Scandi style chairs made of pale colored wood with tan or light brown leather
  • nests of round tables
  • expect to see interiors decorated with tan coloured leather

This eye-catching exhibit is by Miniform. The stylish orange sofas add a pop of colour to the grey background. The sofas are available in a variety of fabrics and colours.  I also love the coffee table with its horizontal cut through of a tree.

One of my favorite displays, this exhibit by ‘Top3 by design’ demonstrates that the Scandi look is still very much in vogue.  I love the combination of colours in this display, and in particular, I love the squirrel cushion which adds a touch of personality and charm.

In this exhibit I love the navy on navy which is broken up with the pale tables.  An emerging trend is the use of two small round tables which can be ‘nested’ together.

This gorgeous Bambi Chair featured in the exhibit by ‘Top3 by design’.  It is incredibly cute and has so much character.

This exhibit by Fred International was one of my favorites.  The green background works really well with the gorgeous leather Saxe Easy Chair by Lassen.  It is a folding chair which was originally designed in 1955.  A common theme of the exhibition was Scandi style chairs made of light colored wood with brown or tan leather – just beautiful.

Marble is still on trend.  An example is this marble top Spin coffee table by Friends and Founders which was on display at the Fred International exhibit.
